President Ali Bongo Ondimba and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in New York


The president of the Republic, Ali Bongo Ondimba, discussed on June 7th with the General secretary of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, in margin of the high level Conference on the oceans, organized by ONU in New York.

During this maintenance, indicates the services of the presidency of the Republic, the General secretary of the United Nations exchanged with the Head of the State on the cooperation between Gabon and the international organization, like on the environmental questions and climatic for which the United Nations appreciate the commitment of Gabon.

For this purpose, Antonio Guterres congratulated Ali Bongo Ondimba for the ratification by Gabon on the Agreement of Paris as well as the creation of the network of 20 marine surfaces protected in Gabonese water.Always at the internal plan, Mr. Guterres was pleased with the behaviour political dialogue between April and May that he had strongly encouraged.

The two personalities also approached the safe situation which prevails under area, like that of the Central African Republic. More especially as Gabon, which in addition takes the President in Office of the Economic community of the States of central Africa (Ceeac), contributes since 2003 to the return to peace in this country in the throes of a political and security crisis .
